Politician claims his curses are responsible for PDP's woes

– The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) maybe spiritual– That is if the recent revelation by one Charles Chukwunonso Odo is anything to go by– The Enugu-based politician said he cursed the party five years agoCharles Chukwunonso Odo, an Enugu-based politician is claiming responsibility for the crisis currently rocking the PDP.According to Odo, he placed a curse on the party five years ago, adding that God’s anger was responsible for the crisis in the party at the moment.PDP acting national chairman, Ahmed MakarfiSpeaking to journalists in Enugu, Odo claimed he was defrauded by the Enugu state chapter of the party in 2011, adding that he placed a curse on the party after a 7-day fasting.READ ALSO: 5 implications of a successful PDP convention to APCHis words:“I want to declare boldly today that the crisis rocking the PDP, is not ordinary. I placed a curse on the party five years ago owing to a grave injustice meted out on me.“In 2011, I had joined the race for the councillorship position in Ogbodu-Aba ward, Udenu local government area of Enugu atate.“The then chairman of the PDP in Udenu local government, Mr Fabian Ugwu, had encouraged us to buy forms, promising that we shall be treated fairly. I was the first person in Enugu state to purchase the form.“It later turned out that there was no election at all; they collected my money, put it in their pocket but never held any election.“I made several efforts by appealing to the conscience of the powers that be in the party to right the wrongs done to me but they refused. So, having exhausted all avenues, I decided to take the matter to God’s court.“I went into fasting for seven days where I poured out my heart to God. I placed a curse on the PDP and prayed God to sweep the party away with crisis. I prayed Got to destroy the PDP; I am very happy today that the hour has come. Now, it is happening.“After the prayer, I resigned from active party politics because I saw PDP as agathering of unjust people. Now, my prayer has been answered. I want to make it clear that I will not lift the curse until they come to me and apologize.”Odo, a catechist in the Roman Catholic church did not however state if the curse was meant for only the Enugu state chapter of the PDP which he claimed defrauded him or the national body of the party which is presently in turmoil.READ ALSO: REVEALED: Why the PDP is desperate for a conventionTop members of the PDP including governors in the early hours of today, August 17 decided to put a hold tothe party’s proposed convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.In March, the party had a failed convention whereSenator Ali Modu Sheriff was thrown outandAhmed Makarfi was appointed as caretaker committee chairmanfor three months.Following the sack of Sheriff, he filed series of cases against the appointmentof Makarfi and described as illegal the convention slated for in Rivers state.Despite pleas and court injunctions,Sheriff has remained adamant and refused to surrender to the Makarfi-led committee,vowing to truncate every move of the Makarfi faction to hold the convention.He had given series of conditions, the fulfillment of which he said, will bring lasting peace in the party.
