he frontline aspirant in Ondo APC primary poll, Segun Abraham rejects Akeredolu’s victory– Abraham rejects Akeredolu’s emergence after he had initially congratulated him– The APC chieftain says he took the decision to reject the result following the gale of allegations and malpractices that have since rocked the conductDr. Segun Abraham, runner up in the All Progressives Congress governorshipprimaries in Ondo state, has rejected the results of last Saturday’s results, following the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s flag bearer.This comes just hours after hehad congratulated Akeredolu on his victory.READ ALSO: 6 major contenders for Ondo APC guber ticket (photos)Segun AbrahamBut according to Abraham, he took the decision to reject the result following the gale of allegations and malpractices that have since rocked the conduct and the process of the gubernatorial primary, Leadership reports.Abraham, who polled 635 votes to finish second place, alleged that the process leading to the primary election was manipulated and compromised to favour the winner.Rotimi Akeredolu APC governorship candidateIn a statement which was signed by the director-general of his campaign, Prince Olu Adegboro, Abraham said that the outcome of the election is“unacceptable”.READ ALSO: Candidates are kidnapping delegates – APC guber aspirantHe said his rejection comes on the heels of staggering facts of anomalies that have since emerged to the demerit of the exercise.Akeredolu polled 669 votes to defeat Abraham, who was the front-line aspirant.Twenty-four aspirants jostled for the party’s ticket in the governorship primary election.After the election, the results are as follows: Olusola Oke – 576 votes, Ajayi Borrofice- 471 votes, Tayo Alasoadura- 206 votes, Bode Ayorinde- 67 votes, Jumoke- Ajasin Anifowose- one vote, Tunji Ariyomo- two votes, Tunji Abayomi- five votes, Afemi Mayowa- 13 votes, Adegbomire Adebiyi- 8 votes, Adekunle Adekunle- eight votes, Ayo Akinyelure- three votes and Jamiu Afolabi, 44 votes, Ademola Adegoroye- 0 votes, Bukola Adetula – eight votes, Foluso Adefemi – 13 votes, Victor Olabimtan- 18 votes and Boye Oyewumi – seven votes.A total of 2774 delegates were accredited to vote during the exercise which was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
