Buhari views the aeromagnetic map of the nickel discovery

President Muhammadu Buhari has been officially informed about the discovery of nickel, the new mineral resource found in the northern state of Kaduna.According to a picture made public by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Buhari was presented with the aeromagnetic map and the independent volumetric analysis of the mineral resource.Kayode Fayemi, Nigeria’s minister of Mines and Steel Development, was flanked by the minister of state for Mines and Steel Development, Abubakar Bawa Bwari at the Statehouse.President Buhari being showed the map of the newly-discovered mineral resource by the minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi. Photo: State House.This news about the president seeing the map is coming after a certain Facebook user, Jaafar Jaafar shared the post of hisfriend Rufa’i Dabo, who wrote an interesting postafter he visited Bagwai and Shanono LGAs in Kano.The man claims that these two villages are abundant of discovering gold andother natural resources.According to him the only problem is that the locals can only dig a little as they do not have the modern equipment to assist them in mining these mineral resources.Recall that The Australian, an Australian national news daily stated that a private mining syndicate headed by a mining industry veteran, Hugh Morgan made thediscovery of nickel at Dangoma in the north-west state of Kaduna.“The discovery is unusual because the nickel is found in small balls up to 3mm in diameter of a high purity in shallow soils in what could be the surface expression of a much bigger hard-rock nickel field.”
