He suggested that the solution lies in utilising the abundant land and manpower of the North for thepurpose of redeveloping the agricultural sector. The governor promised that northern governors would look into the possibility of acting as a guarantor for the company’s loans if they could not increase outright its current N500m share capital. The exploration of oil is expected to stop the over-reliance on Niger Delta oil that has brought about the rise in militancy in the region. This is also coming following the exportation of oil in Lagos which is also a move that will reduce focus on Niger Delta.

Our first message is to the parents of the girls to let them know that their daughters are still with us; some of them.‘‘I also want to tell them to beg the Nigerian government to release our brethren, especially those in Maiduguri, Lagos and Abuja and other places across Nigeria. They should be released immediately.‘‘You all knew that we had the girls, but God never allowed you to know their location and you will never know by God’s grace. You keep lying in your media that you will rescue them; they have been with us for over two years, yet you don’t know where they are. You have been lying about these girls.‘‘For over two years that we have been with these girls, about 40 of them have been married, some are dead as a result of airstrikes by infidels. We willshow you a video of how your own aircraft dropped a bomb that killed some of these girls. Some of the girls have suffered fractures and other forms of injuries as a result of the air strikes.‘‘As you can see, these are the girls, all we want is for you to release our brethren, otherwise, you will never get these girls, God willing. This is our message to the Federal Government and the parents of the Chibok girls.‘‘As long as the government does not release our people, we will also never release these girls. The BringBackOurGilrs group during its meeting on Sunday, August 14 calledon the federal government to go for the release of the girls.Maida Yakubu (Dorcas), who spoke in the video begged the government to secure their release and urged her patients to be patient.Aisha Yesufu who is a co-convener of the group said:“After listening to the call of Dorcas Yakubu, we demand an immediate action, as well as a result-oriented response plan by the government. The excuse of a split within the terrorists’ ranks or a period of validation of the authenticity of their claims will not suffice this time. We shall press these demands with a march to the Presidential Villa in the next few days.”“In the aftermath of an earlier video, we repeatedly called on government to treat the information as the missing piece of credible information it was seeking. Not even the return of Amina Ali, a Chibok girl, inspired the sort of response we demanded.”READ ALSO:Airforce to begin operation in south southOby Ezekwesili who is also a co-convener of the group said:“We are not going to let up until this government acts. Let them get ready because every day we shall be marching to the (Presidential) villa. If it means marching to the villa everyday to demand the release of our chibok girls, so be it….Only three choices are available – negotiate to release our girls, use the military operation or a combination of the two. We don’t want to see a fourth video.”Meanwhile, the federal governmenthas made move to contact Boko Haram terroristsfollowing the release of the video. The Punch reports that the federal government after the release of the video confirmed that“it is in touch”with the terrorists over the video.

How can you declare people “wanted” when you haven’t even invited them for questioning–and they haven’t resisted your invitation? I just got off the phone with Ambassador Ahmed Umar Bolori, one of the people declared “wanted” by the Nigerian military.“He told me he called the Chief of Army Staff, the spokesperson of the Nigerian military, who announced him “wanted,” and other top military officers and said he was at their beck and call and didn’t need to be declared “wanted” since he wasn’t in hiding.“He then went ahead and turned himself in at the top military barracks in Maiduguri, waited for more than two hours, but there was no one to interrogate or arrest him.READ ALSO:Fast all in one — UC Browser“He called and texted the chief of army staff and the military spokesperson again and pleaded with them to send someone to detain, arrest, interrogate, or do whatever they wanted to do to him because he wanted to clear his name.“He was later told to go home and return the following day! These people also know his home in Maiduguri.“They know where to get him if they want to. Yet they declared him “wanted.” Is there any parallel to this level of puzzling incompetence in the world? Read how Lagos neglected Agboyi for 16 years

“We have been neglected for many years despite our voting strength. We don’t have good drinking water, we don’t have toilets, we defecate in the river,we don’t have roads. We have only one government primary school that caters for the population of almost one million people. We don’t have any secondary school. Water wastes from factories in Ikeja, Ogba and Agege are diverted to our community and this has crippled our fishing business.“Worse still, we pass through hell to go and come out from Agboyi everyday because there is no bridge that links us with Alapere and other neighbouring communities. We voyage through river by canoes everyday and our children who attend secondary schools in Alapere, Ojota and Ketu always encounter difficulty while going and coming through the rivers. We need urgent government intervention to salvage our situation.”READ ALSO:Town planners should demonstrate professionalism – FasholaThese were the words of the Osolomade of Agboyi land, High Chief Abdul-Jeleel Salawudeen during a chat with Naij.com.Agboyi land is a community of almost 1.5 people in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area. The community comprises Agboyi 1, 2 and 3 which scatters between Alapare in the west and Ogudu in the south of the local government. Agboyi is surrounded by water and the residents go and come out of the community through canoes.A visit to the community by Naij.com revealed that despite the population of people living there, the community lacks basic amenities/facilities ranging from good drinking water, secondary school, roads, hospitals, and a bridge that should link it with other communities.Speaking with Naij.com, High Chief Salawudeen lamented that in the previous years, politicians came to the community when elections were approaching and resurfaced again when they wanted to seek their votes for another term in office. He said they had made several promises to give them a bridge but to no avail, adding that each time it rains the community is usually flooded making it extremely difficult for people to go for their businesses. He said:“We lack basic amenities in this community and because we don’t have a bridge that links Agboyi to other communities in Agoyi-Ketu Local Council Development, virtually all social amenities elude us. We don’t have good water to drink, we don’t have toilets, each time there is heavy rain, this community is flooded and we usually find it extremely difficult to come out of our various houses, and there instances when our children could not go to school for days even for weeks.“Agboyi community is in the centre of Lagos state and despite that we have not enjoyed governments’ presence here. They only come here during election period to canvass for our votes and after the election, they don’t come here again until when the next election is approaching. The voting population here in Agboyi community is up to one million and we always voteen-masse for the ruling party since 1999 but we have not enjoyed any dividends of democracy.“The previous governments had come and promised to give us a bridge which they couldn’t. The current Governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode recently sent some delegations here to inspect and evaluate the cost of the bride but I don’t want to doubt that it will go the way of past government. I believe Ambode’s government will soon make our dream of having the bridgea reality. We have met with government on several occasions, we have also made our plight known to them through the media. I think that is what made Governor Ambode to make bold that he willngive us the bridge as soon as possible. If this is done, some residents who have cars will be able to access our communities with their cars.READ ALSO:Investigation: Red alert, as crime grows per minute in Lagos, others“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has promised to give us bridge in Agboyi landafter several appeals to past governments. And I want to believe that to showhe is ready to walk his talk that is why he recently sent his commissioners to come and inspect the river from Agboyi 1 to Agboyi 3 and promised that the construction will start very soon. And we also believe that it will be done as promised despite that we have had such promise in the past since 1999 when the current political dispensation started. We are hopeful that the time has come when we will have a bridge in this community.”Asked about efforts made by the previous chairmen of the local government and members who have represented them at the State House of Assembly, High Chief Salawudeen said that tried their best but quick to add that their current representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunde Buraimoh has done wonderfully well to ensure the promises don’t go the wayof past government. He noted,“Our representative at the Lagos Assembly, Hon. Tunde Buraimoh ensured that governor delegation visited this community as regards the bridge. The immediate past local government Executive secretary erected some plank bridges for us within the community and I believed you would have seen them when you were coming here.“If the government can do this bridge for us, a lot of social amenities will be brought here and our business activities will be boosted. Our major occupation is fishing and mat weaving. But in recent time, water pollution has made fishing difficult for us. All the water from factories in Ikeja, Ogba and Agege are diverted to Agboyi and this is making life unbearable for us. If our water has not been polluted, you wouldn’t have met any of us, we would have gone fishing.“And to buy a keg of drinking water in Agboyi is N100. The sellers buy kegs ofwater in Alapere and other neighbouring communities, transport them here through canoes and sell a keg at the rate of N100 because we don’t have any other water to drink. Each time it rains we are happy because we will have opportunity to get good water to drink and cook and we will also fill our drums and kegs so that the water will sustain us till when it rains again.“We believe that if the bridge is constructed, everything will become easier forus and life will become bearable as well because pipes will be layed under thebridge to give us pipe-borne water from Alapere. We have only one primary school, Agboyi primary school but we don’t have secondary school, we have one health centre. In Agboyi 1, we have primary 4-6 while we have primary 1-3 in Agboyi 2.“Agboyi is as old as Lagos State itself. Adeniran Ogunsanya attended his primary education, Standard six here in Agboyi. Our fathers have been clamouring for this bride since 1960s. It was the former governor of the state,Alhaji Latest Jakande, who gave us electricity when he was the governor between 1979 and 1983.“He also promised to construct the bridge but unfortunately he couldn’t fulfill his pledge before his government was toppled by the Military coup led by General Muhammadu Buhari, now the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”Also speaking with NAIJ.com, the Chief Apena of Agboyi 1, Chief Tajudeen Akinyele, appealed to the government to hasten its promise so that the community would not be left out in the development of the state.READ ALSO:Lagos may unban law on street trading, hawkingHe said,“We need serious intervention from the government because we can’t sink bore holes let alone dig toilets since we are in swampy area. We defecate on the river because we have no alternative. We want to urge Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to fulfil his promise so that we can also enjoy the dividends of democracy.”A representative of Kosofe Constituency 2 at Lagos State House of Assembly,Hon. Tunde Buraimoh, who told Naij.com at Assembly Complex, Alausa Ikejathat part of his electioneering promises was to lobby the executive to construct a bridge for the people of community, said that he has not reneged from his pledge of bringing dividends of democracy to the grassroots.Buraimoh, who was the Chairman, Kosofe Local Government between 1999 and 2002, said that Governor Ambode has given him his words that the construction of the bridge would start very soon, emphasised that nobody would be left out in the development of the state by Governor Ambode led administration.

"Praise the Lord" ministry show on Thursday night.
Rumors that McClurkin and Mullen, 49, were dating started
circulating after the two stepped out together at the 2015
Stellar Awards. But the gospel singers never made an official
announcement about their romance until Thursday.
A.R. Bernard, who was also a guest on the show hinted at
McClurkin's engagement during a discussion about his new

Crouch then stood up and announced that the 56-year-old
"We Fall Down" singer and Perfecting Faith Church pastor is,
in fact, on course to getting married.
"OK, are you ready for something? You want me to just drop
something on ya?" Crouch asked the audience as he shouted,
"Donnie McClurkin's getting married! Come on!"
McClurkin then proceeded to explain his decision. "Well praise
God," he said. "Honestly, the only thing in my life that is
missing is marriage. The only thing that is missing in my life
that can cause real family, is marriage. Financially, I'm there.
Spiritually, I'm almost there. Emotionally, I'm getting it
together. But the only thing that's missing out of everything
that I'm doing locally, cross country and globally is that
aspect that makes family, family — is that wife that would
make man whole, that element that brings favor to man."
"I have a lot of great things, but I don't have a good thing,
and there's favor that can only come through marriage to a
man,"
The New York-based minister talked about spending his
nights watching Cartoon Network until 2 a.m. and confessed
that he has come to realize the missing part of his existence
is to have a help mate.
"To have someone that I can love. I'm not saying to love me,
'cause there's a lot of people that love me. I want someone
that I can love, heal and comfort, protect and secure. That's
what I want," he said.
Crouch asked McClurkin to name his future bride and
McClurkin described how God brought him and Mullen
together on an flight to Africa in December 2015.

15 years, the first time they really had a chance to talk was
when they were seated next to each other on a flight to Ivory
Coast, during which they spoke for eight hours.
Mullen was married twice. During her first marriage, the
songwriter and choreographer endured physical and mental
abuse. In 1993, she married CCM singer-songwriter David
Mullen. They announced their divorce in 2014, citing "Biblical
reasons" The marriage produced three children, one daughter
and two sons.
Donnie has a biological son and an adopted daughter but this
will be his first marriage
