Three burnt to death for kidnapping newborn baby


Three young men have been set ablaze by angry crowd for allegedly abducting a newborn baby boy in Imo state– The crowd was angered by the fact that a baby girl was stolen in the community two weeks before the burning of the suspected kidnappers.
Three young men were on Wednesday, October 5 set ablaze by furious youths for allegedly abducting a newborn baby boy in Ezelu Okwe in Onuimo local government area of Imo state.An Illustrative photo of firePunch reports that the suspected kidnappers were burnt to ashes by the angry youths.A source in the community said the suspected kidnappers met their Waterloo when they forcefully took the baby from the mother but were caught by youths who gave them a hot chase.They kidnapped the baby boy and took to their heels immediately. The traumatised mother raised the alarm immediately, which caught the attention of some youths around. The youths quickly intervened, caught the three of them and burnt them alive.”According to the source, the youths meted out jungle justice to the alleged kidnappers because a similar incident had taken place in the community weeks before when kidnappers stole a baby from the mother.”The youths were angered by the fact that a baby girl was stolen in the community two weeks ago. They wanted the killing of the kidnappers to serveas a deterrent to others,Police public relations officer, in the state, Andrew Enwerem, a deputy superintendent of police, said he was awaiting full details from the LGA divisional police officer as of the time of filling this report.Meanwhile,the Nigerian police has arrested two individuals in connection with the kidnappingof the wife of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Margaret Emefiele.The police has also begun a manhunt for four other accomplices who have been declared wanted, while the ransom money has been recovered.
